Marching To Zion

Series:
Passage: Hebrews 12:18-24
Service Type:

Hebrews 12 echoes back to an extraordinary scene in Israel's history, God descending with His glory and power on Mount Sinai. If you read Exodus 19, you'll notice that right before God came down on the mountain God commanded Moses to make sure the Israelites had sanctified themselves and made a barrier around the mountain (because if anyone touched the mountain they would be put to death). That is intense! Even Moses was scared! (Hebrews 12:21)

However, as New Testament believers, the author of Hebrews stresses we approach God in a completely different way (Hebrews 12:22-24). What are the big differences between the Mt. Sinai scene and the future scene at Mt. Zion? What draws you in? What are the requirements for entering into the New Jerusalem (Luke 10:20)?

"Only when we fear God will we obey and keep his commandments"

We hope you were blessed and challenged by the ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. Here at Calvary, we understand the power of prayer (Mark 11:24Philippians 4:6-7) and would humbly ask you if you would be willing to pray for Calvary Baptist Church. Please pray that we would be faithful to the Lord and that we would be a beacon of bright light in this dark world. If the Lord would lead you to consider supporting Calvary financially you can follow the link below. Any gift, no matter how small, will be used to further the Lord's work.
