The Fellowship of Faith

Series:
Passage: Philemon 1-7
Service Type:

There are a lot of false presuppositions people bring with them in studying the short letter of Philemon; Pastor Schuler addresses a number of them throughout his series: Slavery, Philemon's character, Paul's choice of words etc...

The best thing we can do beginning this study of Philemon is pray and ask God to illuminate our minds and open our eyes to the teaching of this text.

There are some important questions that Pastor Schuler addresses as well:

  • Is this letter a private or public letter?
  • Why is this book in the Bible?
  • How does the Christian message impact a master/slave relationship?
  • How does knowing the book of Colossians help in studying Philemon?
  • Does Philemon's decision impact other Christians? (How about you?)
  • What does "Communication" mean in verse 6?
  • Are you thankful to another person/believer helping someone other than yourself?

Find out the answers to these questions in this Mornings sermon by Pastor Rodney Schuler.

We hope you were blessed and challenged by the ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. Here at Calvary, we understand the power of prayer (Mark 11:24, Philippians 4:6-7) and would humbly ask you if you would be willing to pray for Calvary Baptist Church. Please pray that we would be faithful to the Lord and that we would be a beacon of bright light in this dark world. If the Lord would lead you to consider supporting Calvary financially you can follow the link below. Any gift, no matter how small, will be used to further the Lord's work.
